Useful Properties of Selected Essential Oils


Essential oils are derived from various plants...and can be used to enhance your environment, raise your vibration and heighten your psychic experiences.

You can add essential oils to your bath, rub them on candles, use them in a diffuser, or anoint yourself with them. The most traditional areas to anoint are the center of the forehead and the crown. But you can also benefit from anointing your psychic centers...the chakras, your wrists, throat, ankles and the back of your neck. If you enjoy foot massages, may I suggest you add your favorite essential oils. Always use a base oil when using essential oils on the body. I recommend sweet almond and grape seed oils...3-4 drops of essential oil per 10 ML of base oil.

The following list includes a few essential oils that I find to be the most useful...in particular, for psychic and spiritual properties:


Frankincense: Uplifting, balancing, purifying, protective. Good for meditation and connecting with guides. Promotes enlightenment, multidimensional awareness, transcendence. Dispels negativity. Soothes and calms the mind, slowing down and deepening breathing. It also helps to calm anxiety and obsessive states linked to the past.

Jasmine: Balancing, inspiring, sensual. Attracts love, romance and sex. Stimulates psychic dreams, astral projection, creativity and visions. Encourages compassion and transcendence. Aids meditation. An excellent remedy in cases of severe depression and soothes the nerves, producing a feeling of confidence, optimism and euphoria, while revitalizing and restoring energy.

Lavender: My absolute favorite essential oil. Integrating, balancing, healing, protective, purifying. Aids meditation, stimulates dream recall and clairvoyance. Opens third-eye chakra. It has a soothing and calming effect on the nerves, relieving tension, depression, panic, hysteria and nervous exhaustion in general and is effective for headaches, migraines and insomnia.

Myrrh: Grounding, healing, protective, purifying. Clears mental blockages. Encourages enlightenment, transcendence. Good for meditation and blessings. Very effective against excessive mucus in the lungs and helps to clear ailments such as colds, catarrh, coughs, sore throats and bronchitis.

Patchouli: Attracts money, love and sex. Dispels negativity, stimulates spiritual growth. Great for divination and self-hypnosis. It has a grounding and balancing effect on the emotions and banishes lethargy, while sharpening the wits, fighting depression and anxiety. Creates an amorous atmosphere.

Rose: Cleansing, healing, balancing, protective. Opens heart chakra, attracts love. Stimulates creativity, assists in letting go. Use for divination and blessings. Soothes and harmonizes the mind and helps with depression, anger, grief, fear, nervous tension and stress and at the same time addresses sexuality, self-nurturing, self esteem and dealing with emotional problems.

Rosemary: Protective, cleansing, psychic stimulant. Opens heart chakra and third-eye chakra. Promotes visions, creativity and past life-recall. Dispels negativity. It has a pronounced action on the brain and the central nervous system. Wonderful for clearing the mind and creating mental awareness, as well as improving memory.

Sandalwood: Purifying, protective, healing. Opens sacral chakra. Good for meditation, astral projection, manifesting, blessings, house cleansing and releasing the past. Dispels negativity. It has a harmonizing and calming effect which reduces tension and confusion. Ideal for use in depression, hectic daily lifestyles and states of fear, stress, nervous exhaustion, chronic illness and anxiety.

Here are a few additional essential oils I keep in my private stock for blending and therapeutic use:

Basil: Crisp smelling essential oil is often used in aromatherapy, as it awakens the mind to clarity of thought, steadies the nerves, while easing sinus congestion and cooling down fevers. Analgesic, antidepressant, antispasmodic, anti-venomous, carminative, cephalic, diaphoretic, digestive, emmenagogue, expectorant, febrifuge, insecticide, nervine, stomachic, sudorific, tonic and stimulant.

Bergamot: Fresh smelling essential oil is a favorite in aromatherapy and is great for creating a more relaxed and happy feeling, while fighting oily skin, acne, psoriasis, eczema, as well as cold sores. Analgesic, antidepressant, antiseptic, antibiotic, anti-spasmodic, stomachic, calmative, cicatrisant, deodorant, digestive, febrifuge, vermifuge and vulnerary.

Clary Sage: Clary Sage oil has great benefits - not only for easing depression, stress and nervous burn-out, but for relieving congested complexions. Promotes restful sleep. Antidepressant, anticonvulsive, antispasmodic, antiseptic, aphrodisiac, astringent, bactericidal, carminative, deodorant, digestive, emmenagogue, euphoric, hypotensive, nervine, sedative, stomachic, uterine and nerve tonic.

Eucalyptus: This essential oil helps to clear the mind and focus concentration, while reducing swelling in the mucus membranes. It is very valuable in fighting respiratory problems, fighting inflammation and sore muscles, rheumatism, headaches and nervous exhaustion. Analgesic, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-neuralgic, anti-rheumatic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, antiviral, astringent, balsamic, cicatrisant, decongestant, deodorant, depurative, diuretic, expectorant, febrifuge, hypoglycaemic, rubefacient, stimulant, vermifuge and vulnerary.

Geranium: Helps to balance the mind and emotions, while stimulating the adrenal cortex and balancing the hormonal system and stimulating the lymphatic system. Used for healing of wounds. Astringent, haemostatic, cicatrisant, cytophylactic, diuretic, deodorant, haemostatic, styptic, tonic, vermifuge and vulnerary.

Juniper Berry: Help to stimulate and strengthen the nerves and bolster the spirits in challenging situations. It is used for treating rheumatism, arthritis and gout, as well as acne, dermatitis, blocked pores, psoriasis and weeping eczemas. Antiseptic, anti-rheumatic, antispasmodic, astringent, carminative, depurative, diuretic, rubefacient, stimulating, stomachic, sudorific, vulnerary and tonic.

Neroli: Has a greatly relaxing effect on the body and mind, relieving muscle spasms, calming heart palpitations and has a wonderful rejuvenating and regenerative effect on the skin, helping to prevent ugly scarring and fighting stretch marks. Antidepressant, antiseptic, anti-infectious, antispasmodic, aphrodisiac, bactericidal, carminative, cicatrisant, cytophylactic, cordial, deodorant, digestive, emollient, sedative and tonic.

Orange (sweet): Creates the feeling of happiness and warmth, while calming nervous digestive problems. It deals very well with colds and flu, eliminates toxins and stimulates the lymphatic system, while supporting collagen formation in the skin. Antiseptic, anti-depressant, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, carminative, diuretic, cholagogue, sedative and tonic.

Peppermint: Stimulates the mind, increases mental agility and focus, while cooling the skin, reducing redness and calming irritation and itchiness. It furthermore helps to ease migraine, headaches, sinus and chest congestion. Analgesic, anesthetic, antiseptic, antigalactagogue, antiphlogistic, antispasmodic, astringent, carminative, cephalic, cholagogue, cordial, decongestant, emmenagogue, expectorant, febrifuge, hepatic, nervine, stimulant, stomachic, sudorific, vasoconstrictor and vermifuge.

Tea Tree: One of the most powerful immune system stimulants and sorts out most viral, bacterial and fungal infections in a snap, while it is great to clean wounds and also relieves muscle aches and pains. Antimicrobial, antiseptic, antiviral, balsamic, bactericide, cicatrisant, expectorant, fungicide, insecticide, stimulant and sudorific.
